Resolution R-443-22, Agenda Item 11(A)(13), was adopted by the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners on May 3, 2022. Commissioner Kionne L. McGhee was its prime sponsor.
It declares August 2022 and August each year thereafter Black Business Month. It directs County collaboration with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce, Black Affairs Advisory Board (BAAB), and Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust (MDEAT), assisted by Small Business Development, to promote Black businesses.
